Level Four Courses
Self directed learning
Highfield Level Four Food Safety and Health and Safety.
Using a combination of workbooks, videos, revision quizzes, exercises and the Highfield official textbooks, we guide you through these important subjects.
The great thing about this method of learning is you can learn in your own time, at your own pace.
These qualifications are recognised on the Regulated Qualifications Framework, in the same way as A levels, and can provide a great boost to your career.
The final examination is taken online at a time and location to suit you.
Not sure if this method of learning is right for you? We recommend you sample free taster lessons by clicking the link below. No credit card required, simply create an account and take a look around.
Although the course is self-direct learning, I'm only an email or phone call away from additional support whenever it's required
Both courses are priced at £395. However, we regularly offer discounts, so please get in touch for the latest prices.

Level Four Food Safety Four Day Open Course
I will be running open Level Four Food safety courses in August 25 and January 26. Priced at just £245 per person.
The lower price is essentially a 'group discount' for a number of people completing the course together.
The August course will be held from Monday 4th August to Thursday 7th August 2025.
Places on the course can be secured with a refundable deposit of £100 paid via BACS, with the remaining balance to be paid prior to 4th of August. For this course I'm limiting the number of delegates to ten.
Once the deposit is paid, I'll send a pre-course learning pack so delegates come to the course pre-armed with knowledge. This pack can also be used for revision prior to taking the exam.
This course will be run remotely via Zoom and the exam taken at a time to suit delegates using Highfield remote invigilation.
This means you can take the exam at home providing you have wi-fi, a computer with a camera, and a smart phone. You can upload a copy of the Highfield remote invigilation checklist below, which provides more information.
The system is user friendly; delegates click on a link and a Highfield member of staff invigilates to ensure the correct exam conditions are maintained.
The courses will run for four days, but don't worry if you miss any of the dates. The presentations will be recorded (providing there are no technical glitches), and you can watch them at any time.
The January course will be held Monday 5th January to Thursday 8th January 2026.
